New gTLD Program Applicant Guidebook Published for Board Consideration
Following the direction and timeline set by its Board of Directors, ICANN has posted the New gTLD Applicant Guidebook – 30 May 2011. The Board is scheduled to consider the New gTLD Program for approval on 20 June at ICANN's international meeting in Singapore.
The Guidebook publication is accompanied by Explanatory Memoranda related to implementation and communication plans, and an extensive analysis of the public comment [PDF, 1.1 MB] received on the previous Guidebook version.

Following the direction and timeline set by its Board of Directors, ICANN has posted the New gTLD Applicant Guidebook – 30 May 2011. The Board is scheduled to consider the New gTLD Program for approval on 20 June at ICANN's international meeting in Singapore.
The Guidebook publication is accompanied by Explanatory Memoranda related to implementation and communication plans, and an extensive analysis of the public comment [PDF, 1.1 MB] received on the previous Guidebook version.
Importantly, the recent Government Advisory Committee comments on the Applicant Guidebook (April 15th, 2011 version) [PDF, 112 KB] indicate resolution and compromise on many issues raised by the GAC and a path forward for resolving others. The ICANN Board and GAC are preparing to meet in Singapore to discuss topics raised in the recent GAC comments.
